Abstract

This research examines the phenomenon of the globalization of American media and its effects on cultures and politics in the Arab world through a comprehensive study of the impact of Western, particularly American, media on the cultural and political identity of Arab societies. The research aims to analyze how American media has penetrated Arab societies through various means, such as television, cinema, and social media, and the resulting promotion of American cultural patterns and the dissemination of Western values. The study includes a review of several previous studies and academic articles that have addressed this topic, focusing on the different dimensions of this influence, including how public opinion and public policies in the region are shaped. It also reviews local and regional reactions to this growing media influence, including efforts to preserve cultural identity and intellectual and cultural resistance against media hegemony attempts. The research further explores the growing role of new media, such as the internet and social media, in either reinforcing or resisting this cultural hegemony in the Arab context, and how it can be used as a tool for social and political change.
