Trends and Technical Methods of Satellite Television Channels
A Study on a Sample of Yemeni Satellite Channels

This research aims to explore the trends, types, and topics of television programs in three Yemeni satellite channels: Al-Hawiya,Yemen Today, Al-Mahriya It focuses on how these programs influence the audience through a detailed analysis of the content and technical methods used in broadcasting. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, the research addresses questions regarding the main program contents, types of content broadcasted, points of agreement and differences, and technical methods adopted by these channels. The study seeks to identify the key topics covered by these channels' programs and the reasons behind their weak performance and influence on the audience. The findings reveal that Al-Mahriya Channel heavily focuses on political programs, while Al-Hawiya Channel is known for its social programs. Yemen Today Channel combines political and social interests. Significant results show a diversity of programs among the three channels, with different approaches in news coverage. Al-Hawiya Channel leads in using a descriptive approach, Al-Mahriya adopts both analytical and critical methods, and Yemen Today employs a balanced use of descriptive and critical approaches, reflecting each channel's political and intellectual orientations and their impact on the audience.
