The Role of Human Resource Management Practices in Implementing Total Quality Management Principles
A Field Study on Islamic Microfinance Institutions in the Republic of Yemen

This study aimed to measure the role of Human Resource Management (HRM) practices (Human Resource Planning, Recruitment, Training and Development, Compensation and Incentives) in implementing Total Quality Management (TQM) principles (Continuous Improvement, Top Management Support, Employee Motivation, Customer Focus) within Islamic microfinance institutions in Yemen. The study employed a descriptive-analytical approach, using a questionnaire to collect data from a stratified random sample of 215 employees. Data were analyzed using SPSS. The findings revealed a statistically significant, strong positive role of HRM practices in TQM implementation (α ≤ 0.05), explaining 65.5% of the variance. The "Training and Development" dimension was found to be the most influential, followed by "Compensation and Incentives," "Recruitment," and "Human Resource Planning." Based on these results, the study recommends strategic investment in specialized quality training, restructuring incentive systems to link them to quality performance indicators, and fostering a quality culture through top management support and employee engagement."
